Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

Less than one-half mile from our hotel, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is a classic seaside amusement park overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Discover exciting rides, including the Giant Dipper Roller Coast and the 1911 Looff Carousel, both National Historic Landmarks, and the new Crazy Surf. Your kids will love fun attractions, arcade games, miniature golf, laser tag and the Boardwalk Bowl. With its remarkable history and vintage beach vibe iconic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk also offers oceanfront dining and shopping and free Friday night bands during the summer. The Boardwalk spans a wide sandy beach and Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary where yuu can see dolphins, sea lions, and whales swimming just offshore.

FAQs

  • What are the best rides at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk?

Thrill seekers will be drawn to the Giant Dipper wooden roller coaster, an historic landmark from 1924, as well as several other hair-raising rides. Undertow is Northern California's only spinning coaster while Double Shot is a mind-blowing 125-foot tower ride. Equally fun but less scary are family-friendly rides like Space Race and Sea Serpent.
  • What else is there to do around the Boardwalk?

You'll find plenty of other things to keep you busy and they're all within walking distance of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Rent a kayak, go fishing or sign up for a whale watching tour from the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf. In addition, you can bike ride or take a walk along nearby West Cliff Drive where the views of the coast are stunning.
